From the Teatro alla Scala, Milan

”The success was so enormous, the work aroused such fury that at any moment the public in mass stood up to cover Rossini cheers.”

Stendhal, spectator of the first La Scala in 1817, describes how "Rossini was first tired of saying goodbye that the audience applauded". Two hundred years later, a Rossini of rank as Riccardo Chailly reports this famous semi-serious opera on the stage where he saw the light. A masterpiece of grace and brilliance also capable of describing without excesses the excesses of power.

For the occasion he makes his debut at the Scala Gabriele Salvatores: the director, co-founder of the Teatro dell'Elfo and Oscar winner for "Mediterraneo", returns to the theater to tell the story of the servant Ninetta, unjustly accused of theft. The cast collects the best of the new generation of Rossini singing: with Rosa Feola debut we will listen to the tenor Edgardo Rocha, bass Alex Esposito and Paolo Bordogna as well as Teresa Iervolino and the expert singing of Michele Pertusi.
