East Marries West
‘East Marries West’ is a world-renowned collaboration between two musical giants - Pandit Shubhendra Rao on the sitar, and Vidushi Saskia Rao-de Haas on the Indian cello. Tabla accompaniment is provided by Aditya Kalyanpur.

The musical duo has performed in several cities in the US and around the world including UK, France, South Africa, India, and Australia. However, they will be performing in Sarasota for the first time.

Their concert is being promoted by the Sunrise Rotary of Sarasota, to fund several specialized beach wheelchairs for the disabled. In conjunction with the Sarasota County Department of Parks and Recreation, the targeted beaches are Siesta Key, Lido and Nokomis beach.

Giuseppina Ciarla Concert
Manatee Opera Guild’s 2019 concert offers you the unique experience of sitting on stage at Sarasota Opera with Italian born harpist Giuseppina Ciarla. Ms. Ciarla has been Principal harpist with the Sarasota Opera orchestra since 2002 and Principal harpist with the orchestra of Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Italy since 2010. She is equally at home as a soloist and chamber musician. Her performance venues include the Lincoln Center in New York, the Italian Embassy in Washington, DC. the Prague Symphony, Orchestra of Slovacchia, the International Jazz and Pop Harp Festival in Monterey, California and the Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, Italy among many others. Ms. Ciarla’s performances have been described as “hearty and colorful . . . enchanting and infectious”. Ms. Ciarla’s intimate on-stage performance will include conversations about the harp and her career. It will feature opera and art songs as well as jazz and pop solos and her own eclectic arrangements in which she will sing along.

Azi Schwartz
Presented by Temple Beth Sholom, Bimah to Broadway - Azi Schwartz.

Azi Schwartz is the principal Cantor at the Park Avenue Synagogue in New York City. He has performed all over the world and is one of the best known Cantors in practiice today. He will be performing genre ranging from Jewish liturgy, to Broadway, pop music ,Opera and more.

It will be a 90 minute performance with no intermission.
